The long tail opportunity for ageless entrepreneurs

I believe the famous 'Long Tail' coined and described by Chris Anderson, has a significant role to play in the economic recovery.  This is especially true when you consider entrepreneurship among those in the second half of life.

Most of us are familiar with the concept.  There are relatively few big 'hits' in the economy.  But when considering the small niches that develop in tandem with or because of the hits, a long tail of available commerce develops that can often exceed the size of the original hits.

With the economy in major restructure mode and problems on every horizon, there are opportunities available for niche entrepreneurs to develop new solutions.

It is not a simple matter of ramping up existing companies to provide new products and seervices.  Exiting companies can surely innovate.  But given current circumstances with small businesses reeling, we can't rely on our existing businesses exclusively.

We need hundreds of thousands of new small businesses to be created to meet this immense need.

Older 'ageless' entrepreneurs have the knowledge, know-how, and networks to quickly ramp up up innovative new services and products.

If you are in the second half of life, you owe it to yourself to explore creating your own small, smart startup.  The world needs you.

I believe Ageless Startup can be a helpful guide, but no matter how you approach this opportunity, you need to start small, start smart, and start right now.
